Welcome to my Web site!
Hi, my name is Stefan Janis. For 20 years I worked in journalism with newspapers and magazines. At one point, when I was a staff reporter for the Newark Star-Ledger,
my job title was New York Arts Editor.
I went to French schools until I was 13 years old and continued my French studies in the U.S. at the secondary and college levels. My French is fluent, because I lived in the French-speaking part of Switzerland for four years and lived in France for three,
one of those years as an adult.
I have tutored many students and done a lot of translating. I am not gifted with technical translation, however.
My objective is to get clients for freelance fine arts journalism,
clients for all kinds of expository writing, editing clients,
French-English translation work, and French or English tutoring for all
ages.
